Gavan's style includes using amusing anecdotes and self-deprecating humour to great effect.  Bringing a rich and varied package of skills and experience to his presentations Gavan's field of experience includes working with corporations, small, medium and micro businesses, the three levels of government, educational organisations from universities through to secondary and primary schools as well as health, welfare and community organisations and groups. His uniqueness is that he entertainingly combines content from such a wide diversity of experiences.

Gavan's primary academic training is in the human sciences including sociology, psychology, human development, and interpersonal skills. He has higher qualifications in Program and Service Evaluation, Strategic Planning and Personality Profiling.

His presentation style is 'non-threatening, captivating and energetic' and 'straight to the point'. His information and advice is practical - he focuses on solutions not theory. He concentrates on the things that work and is not interested in wasting time on things that don't work.

Gavan's journey to this point includes having been a four time winner of the Barwon Heads Tennis Classic and he has performed in six corporate training videos.

One morning while day-dreaming he invented the (NILS) No Interest Loans Scheme which is now the largest micro-finance scheme in Australia. This scheme has helped thousands of low-income individuals and families to access millons of dollars of goods and services to improve their quality of life without the pressure often exerted by finance institutions or unemployment. The NILS program operates at 229 locations in Australia and in several overseas countries.
